This otherworldly site features vast stretches of black lava, shaped into small cones and surreal formations by ancient eruptions. Trekking through the cooled lava fields offers a rare opportunity to witness the island's fiery past etched into its surface.

Morning brings a visit to Vicente Roca Point, a deep water snorkeling gem famous for its marine biodiversity—think sunfish, sea turtles, and playful sea lions. In the afternoon, venture to Fernandina’s Espinoza Point, where lava rocks are alive with marine iguanas, penguins, and the rare flightless cormorant. All under the watch of the still-active La Cumbre volcano, this is one of the wildest corners of the archipelago.
