The Isabela Itinerary 6 Days


M/Y Beluga Isabela offers a 6-day/5-night cruise to Isabela Island. Visit a number of islands to see wildlife such as Galapagos Penguins and sea turtles. You'll also get the chance to observe land and marine iguanas. Kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, snorkeling and stand-up paddling are all options. Anyone who is interested in experiencing the beauty and wildlife that the Galapagos Islands have to offer will enjoy this trip.

 

Tag 1: Transfer to Isabela Island: Puerto Villamil

Arrive Baltra

You will then transfer to Puerto Ayora, where the speedboat ferry departs at 14:00pm for Isabela Island.

Arrive Puerto Villamil

Around 16:30, the speedboat arrives at Puerto Villamil in Isabela. You will then board the Beluga.

Tag 2: Isabela Island: Elizabeth Bay & Punta Moreno

Punta Moreno

Punta Moreno lies on the southwest coast of Isabela Island. This site offers spectacular views of the volcanoes Alcedo Sierra Negra Cerro Azul. Highlights include pristine and desolate landscapes, lava flows and arid zone plants.

Elizabeth Bay

Only a dinghy can reach this spot. On the tiny islets of the bay, you can see penguins. Three different species of mangrove surround the end of this long, narrow bay. In the water, you can often see Galapagos Sea Turtles or rays.

Tag 3: Isabela Island: Urbina Bay & Tagus Cove

Urbina Bay

Urbina Bay lies on the west coast of Isabela Island, at the base of the Alcedo volcano and Darwin Volcano. The colourful Galapagos Giant Tortoises, the land iguanas and corals transforming from 1954 are some of the highlights.

Tagus Cove

Tagus Cove, a natural harbor in which whalers or pirates painted their names on rocks centuries ago. The view from Darwin's Crater, a salt-water lagoon on the hillside will be spectacular.

Tag 4: Fernandina Island: Punta Espinoza & Isabela Island: Punta Vicente Roca

Fernandina Island

Fernandina, the youngest volcano island in existence, is still very active.

Punta Espinoza

Punta Espinoza, a popular tourist destination, is known for the large number of marine iguanas that live there, as well as other unique species such the Galapagos penguins, Galapagos Hawks, and Galapagos Snakes.

Isabela Island: Punta Vicente Roca

The site can be visited via dinghy along the cliffs, or by visiting the cave partially submerged at the edge of the water. The shoreline is home to flightless cormorants, Nasca boobies or blue-footed boobies.

Tag 5: Santiago Island: Playa Espumilla / Buccaneers Cove & Bartolome Island

Santiago Island

The island is situated between Isabela Island and Santa Cruz Island. The island is home to a variety of marine iguanas, fur seals and seabirds.

Playa Espumilla

Espumilla Beach is a stunning contrast of golden sand and green mangroves. Also, you can see nests of green sea turtles, flamingos as well as pintail ducks. This is a great place to cool down with a swim or snorkel.

Buccaneers Cove

Charles Darwin lived here for nine days. This site was also a stopover for whalers, pirates, and other seafarers. Buccaneers Cove has a rich and interesting history. Take a panga or snorkel to see Galapagos Fur Seals and Brown Noodies. Pelicans and Swallow-tailed Gulls are also common.

Bartolome Island

You can hike to the top of Bartolome and enjoy a breathtaking view. Around Pinnacle Rock, you can see sea lions or penguins. The sandy beach is great for swimming and snorkeling.

Tag 6: North Seymour Island & Baltra Island

North Seymour

The flat land was created by an event that occurred thousands of years before. This island has endemic Palo Santo tree, blue-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls and magnificent frigate bird colonies.
